Improving Lives
Around the World

In addition to the important probate and forensic genealogy services we provide for our clients, Legacy Probate International is also committed to other life-changing causes, as shown by our support of a wide range of charities every year.

OVERVIEW

Project Concern International

Project Concern International (PCI) is involved with many issues to better improve the lives of people around the world. Here is their own broad explanation of what they do:

“In the past 25 years, more than 1 billion people have been lifted out of extreme poverty: child mortality has been cut in half: tens of millions more girls are in school: millions more people have access to clean water: and the average life expectancy around the world is 10 years longer. PCI is one of the organizations driving those impressive results.

We design all of our programs in partnership with the people we serve. This ensures that the solutions are lasting and that communities can assume ownership in the long run. We also rigorously measure our results to make certain our resources are being used effectively and for maximum impact.”

Stop Human Trafficking

Legacy Probate International has engaged with PCI to specifically target a global problem that unfortunately receives little media attention. This horrific, “hidden” problem affects an estimated 40 million people around the world, most of whom are women and children.

Legacy Probate International is dedicated to partnering with PCI in eliminating this problem in the US.

The plight of human trafficking victims is unimaginably horrendous. We at Legacy Probate Interneational believe everyone deserves a fair chance and a healthy environment in which to grow up.

SUPPORT

Charities

Legacy Probate International, on behalf of its employees and their families, has chosen to donate to the Pamela Atkinson Homeless Fund as our philanthropic pursuit for 2022.  Each year, Legacy Probate reviews charitable projects to support.  Upon review, we realized how significant the homeless situation United States has become in these post-pandemic years.  Though there were times during the covid epidemic when the future was uncertain, our firm was fortunate enough to weather the storm and keep everyone on the payroll without receiving government subsidies (PPI).  In the spirit of living with this uncertainty, and to help those who have been less fortunate than we were during these tough times, we have decided this year to help the homeless community.   The Pamela Atkinson Homeless Trust Fund is recognized as one of the most efficient organizations in helping families and individuals in need.  The P.A.H.T. fund has built facilities and developed programs for families to escape the streets as a start toward a better life.  If you wish to help as well, there is a link on this page where you can contribute.

This year, the team at Legacy Probate International is helping local youths by supporting The Milagro Center based in Delray Beach, Florida.

“Milagro, which means “miracle” in Spanish, motivates children and youth to “reach for the stars” while being confronted by the many adverse influences they face in the community. Milagro Center’s uniquely integrated programs have grown over the decades to focus on empowering these at-risk youth and their families to succeed, both in school and in life, having a resounding positive influence on our local Delray Beach community.

Milagro Center carries out its mission by providing afterschool, summer camp, out-of-school time, and ARTreach programs to underserved and academically-at risk children, youth, and teens in grades K-12 living in south Palm Beach County, Florida.

This unique, innovative, and effective model allows Milagro’s children and teens to develop new skills, build self-esteem, and thrive socially and academically. Milagro Center truly changes the course of these deserving children’s lives from repeating the recurring cycle of poverty to becoming self-sufficient and productive members of our community.”

We at LPI are excited to make an impact so close to our office in Delray Beach. To discover more about the amazing work the Milagro Center is doing, and how you can also help, click on the link below.

Special Olympics strives to create a better world by fostering the acceptance and inclusion of all people.

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

Inspired by a creative fundraiser put together by basketball analyst Deb Antonelli, Legacy Probate International partnered with Special Olympics to enable adults and children with intellectual disabilities to compete in over thirty Olympic inspired sports, allowing many ways for them to be engaged in their communities and with other athletes. We encourage everyone to join us in supporting Special Olympics, helping their athletes find joy, confidence and fulfillment through the power of sports.

We are very proud to have made a donation to Primary Children’s Hospital. In their own words: “The heroes at Primary Children’s Hospital will always be our patients. They’re who inspire us with courage and bravery. The ones who prove strength comes in all sizes, how wonder and optimism provide hope even in the most trying of circumstances. We celebrate their perseverance in finding victories each and every day; their pursuit of passions despite any obstacles placed before them.” We are truly blessed to have one of the very best children’s hospitals in the world right in our own backyard. Many of us have spent time with loved ones at Primary Children’s Hospital, so this charity really means a lot to us. The link below relays the miraculous story of one of our loved ones. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akodF9LL-DI When we approached the hospital about providing support they informed us of three specific areas they are working on. The first is replacing their helicopter fleet, which transfers children from area hospitals up to their facility. They are also working on expanding their music therapy program for children with head injuries. Having seen this firsthand, it’s an amazing thing to witness. Lastly, but most ambitiously, Primary Children’s Hospital is increasing the staff and breadth of their prenatal heart surgery program. We have a two year old child of an employee who is bouncing around town as a result of five heart procedures she had done in the first 25 months of her life. These people are absolutely amazing! On behalf of all our employees we were honored to support the Huntsman Cancer Society in 2017. Cancer has touched all of us in one way or another and despite the polarizing times we live in, we believe we can all stand together to fight this heinous disease. Donations to The Huntsman Cancer Society assist their world-class physicians in working toward improved cancer treatments, diagnostics, and the ultimate goal – the prevention of cancer all together. The Huntsman Cancer Institute consists of over 1 million square feet of hope, consisting of state-of-the-art research labs and cancer treatment spaces.

We proudly announce our charitable contribution to the Hope4Utah organization and their excellent work in the arena of suicide prevention. With our help, Hope4Utah was able to travel to Washington, DC to present their HopeSquad model. They are now spreading their proven model of suicide intervention to multiple states throughout the U.S. After becoming aware of the work of Dr. Greg Hudnall and how he was introducing “Hope Squads” to schools, the rest easily fell into place. Clearly this was an organization worth helping, so we contacted Dr. Hudnall and became a major sponsor for the Hope4Utah cause. If you want to find out more about this great program or perhaps wish to introduce it to a school near you, please check out the link below.

Our office is a proud sponsor in the quest to find a cure for GAN. Giant Axonal Neuropathy attacks the nervous systems in children and is a significantly debilitating disease. This past summer, many people may recall the ALS water bucket campaign, which brought increased awareness to ALS (commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease). GAN is most easily described as a form of ALS which attacks children. We have chosen to support Hannah’s Hope in their quest to initiate the first clinical trial to help these struggling children. The Hannah’s Hope Fund through their excellent and dedicated staff has fought a tireless battle to get the government to increase its research into GAN. Through their efforts and the inspiration of one of the strongest young ladies in the country, Hannah Sames, doctors are narrowing the search for a successful therapy.
